This is my first attempt at publishing a video on the COV website! What were you when you heard about the OKC bombing?

I was driving my student teacher's car to the repair shop. Another teacher was following me to bring be back to school, when suddenly, the car shook. When I got back to school, we found out what had happened. My husband was scheduled for a meeting with HUD that morning in the Murrah building. I didn't find out til after 2 p.m. that he was NOT in the building. All except 1 who was scheduled to meet with him that morning were killed in the explosion!

Andrea, the English teacher in you came out in this extremely poignant presentation. The contrast is perfect!

Andrea, I think you did a marvelous job. Great choice of images. Well-written, and I like how you began the video with innocent images of a beautiful spring morning. That day is permanently engraved in my mind. I feel you captured our emotions.

I was giving my young son his breakfast that morning. When I heard the first blast I grabbed on to the kitchen bar and clung there for the second blast. I thought an airplane must have crashed and falling debris hit our Edmond home. I left my son in his high chair and ran outside to look at the roof and the sky. Nothing, an absolutely peaceful, sunny morning. Then I turned on the television and our world was never the same. My brother-in-law was working in the Journal Record Building. We were very worried until we heard from him, because we weren't sure at first what had happened or what buildings were involved. It was first reported as a possible gas explosion. Who would ever have imagined that an American citizen would bomb a federal building. The hardest part was the loss of the innocent children. Years later, I still have not gone to the memorial because of all these emotions. I've heard many people express this feeling, too.

Were all of the photos you used images you found online, or were some of them personal? If some were personal, which ones were?

Wes: I think (but Andrea can answer also) that all of the pictures came from Flickr Storm.
