About Me:
I have always been a small town girl! I lived in Pryor Oklahoma most of my life. When I was in 8th grade we moved to Adair Oklahoma, where I graduated High School. After graduating I moved back to Pryor, and lived there until my husband and I moved to Salina, OK (our current hometown) about 25 years ago. We liked it so much we stayed! We raised our son here, he is now in college at OSU working on an engineering degree (proud mom :).
I teach Trig and yearbook at Salina High School, where I am also our District's Technology Director. I have been the yearbook sponsor for about 8 years now, so I guess you could say I love to preserve history (one reason I love this project)! I love my school and love my job! I wouldn't change a thing! We have great kids and I enjoy teaching them new concepts and empowering them!

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, we love to scuba dive and our favorite place to dive...Cozumel!!

Main interests in the Celebrate Oklahoma Voices Project:
To train teachers across our great state and to feel proud when I see the many stories they have shared, and to know I have played a part in helping them get their stories in a digital format. To see the impact that the project has made on our teachers and their students. Also, it has became a great resource for lessons in our classrooms!

I am enjoying our workshop so much! I have been listening to stories all evening! What is the name of the story you shared in class that made us all cry? Thanks for coming to Calumet.

Joanie,
Thanks to you and Whitney for teaching me to produce a digital story! Sixth Sense Technology Ted was awesome, and I have never seen a copyright film as interesting as the one you had us view. Thanks for making your presentation so enjoyable and non-threatening!
I rate this workshop at the top of my professional development experiences!

Joanie: The 5th link under a person's photo on their COV profile page is "add as friend," that's where you can add Eric. :-)

Hello Joanie, I appreciate your kind and supportive words. I ALSO appreciate your patience in getting my rogue laptop aligned with all the other technology at the conference--I learned a lot! Not saying I could do it solo now--but I learned A LOT!
