Celebrate Oklahoma Voices!

A learning community empowering digital witnesses of Oklahoma oral history

Our COV advisory committee members have setup a new, independent nonprofit organization to present "Celebrate Oklahoma Voices!" We have incorporated as "Story Chasers, Inc." Our advisory committee members chose "Story Chasers" as our name because we anticipate offering digital storytelling workshops and training opportunities which extend beyond Oklahoma in the future. At this point, however, we are continuing to focus all our efforts on the COV project.

I have created a StoryChasers Twitter account which anyone can follow to stay up to date on COV and StoryChaser project progress. We'll be posting updates and changes to that Twitter account as they are made, for example, when we schedule a new COV workshop or sign-ups for a COV workshop become available. COV project facilitators will be given access to this Twitter account, and will post / link to StoryChaser-related web resources on this Twitter account.

In addition, I've created an editable Google Spreadsheet which COV project participants can use to add personal, school, or organizational Twitter account information. Anyone can edit this document without signing into Google. If you're on Twitter and involved in COV, add your Twitter ID and info here, and find other COV participants who you might want to follow on Twitter.

Last of all, I've removed our Ning website profile questions about videoconferencing and added a profile question about personal Twitter accounts. This way, if you want to share your Twitter ID you can do so as part of your COV profile.

If you have any questions or comments about these changes, please post them here. We're excited about our bright future as "Storychasers!"

Our 2009 workshop schedule continues to be maintained on the following wiki page, as well as the embedded Google Calendar:
